St George's Hill: Julian.

Here is Julian learning to ride a bike on St George's Hill. According to Ms Bedford's book, a member of the Apple Scruffs went to Kenwood one day, only to be greeted by Julian at the side of the gate - "Daddy says fuck off". She gave him, en riposte, a "light spanking" and sent him on his way howling in exaggerated pain. The next thing she knew, there was John, castigating her, quite rightly, for hitting his child; upon which she proceeded to lay into John for instructing his son (as he had done) to tell people hanging around outside Kenwood to "fuck off". John laughed, invitations to tea inside Kenwood were made and accepted, and there we go, but where are the photos, I ask ye? (Daddy Says Fuck Off would have been a good name for this blog.) Incidentally, the sign "Birches Over" refers to the name of one of Kenwood's near neighbours (house, not owner).
