Kinfauns: 1969.
Sara over at MTBFR has posted this great pic of George in 1969, and asks which house it is. It's the living room at Kinfauns:
George is picking up a cutout of Sri Mahavatar Babaji...:
...the very one used on you know wot:
Sri Mahavatar Babaji is featured in one of George's favourite books, Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi (and was also the name of one of John's cats, trivia fans). Google away for further info, if ye will. There's also an intriguing glimpse of George's record collection to the right, but the resolution isn't quite good enough to identify much of it. I think I spot Electronic Sound, though. Anyone able to identify anything else?

ReplyDeleteYes! That's it. Any more...?
ReplyDeleteI have spent the entire evening squinting at the image to the point I think I have given myself a permanent gurn. With regard to the album two down on left side -it looks like a guitarist who's name is Andy Guytram ....Coxtham ..or is it Eddy.....bloody hell ! What does it matter. And middle right - I'm sure I saw upteen copies of that album cover as I scoured through the racks of vinyl in the Notting Hill Record Exchange on '77 but I'll be damned if I can remember who they are. I Keep thinking CSN&Y or CCR but no....oh, is it midnight already ?
ReplyDeleteit's from an interview he gave after he got busted.
