  2. Hi,
The first one is pre-India, probably early 1968, the second is from just after Brian died (and a reply to a note of condolence which his father had sent) and the last one is early summer 1968, around the time he first got together with Yoko. As for transcribing them, I might do it sometime but I can't be bothered right now. His handwriting isn't that bad - you should see mine.

  3. Ooops sorry, I just realised you asked me to paraphrase and not transcribe. Of course!
Ok, the first one is a reply to someone who seems to have written criticising the Maharishi for seeking publicity and TM for being discredited in India. John gives a fairly reasoned and balanced reply, in which he states that publicity for a good cause is no bad thing, and that everything is discredited somewhere by some people. He suggests the person he is writing to should meditate herself, and that would answer all her questions. The second is to his father, Fred, and as I say, was written in the immediate aftermath of Brian's death. Fred had sent John a note saying he was sorry about it, and John replied saying that maybe they should get together and talk - which they did (though it didn't last long). The final one is also to Fred and Pauline, and has John saying that he was sorry to hear they had lost their baby, but was happy they were now together in Brighton. He also makes a rather off colour joke to his father about watching "your arce" (sic)in Brighton. But that was Johnny boy.
