Kenwood: June 1967.
I've never seen a complete version of the first pic here - it's usually cropped. I'm also unclear as to which room this is. I would guess somewhere on the first floor - it might be part of Julian's room, given the toys, or I believe he also had a nursery or playroom up there, so maybe this is it.
UPDATE - it's the den, on the ground floor. See later shizzle for the poop.

It's the sunroom isn't it? Look at the electric fire in the bottom right.
ReplyDeleteNo - window totally wrong. The sunroom, which was obviously tacked on later, didn't have those distinctive windows common to the rest of the house - it had large clear glass on sliding doors.
ReplyDeletebtw the John-era sunroom was refurbished after he moved out. A real fireplace and chimney were added, and a proper roof put on. However, sometime in the '90s, the whole structure was demolished and rebuilt - with windows similar to the rest of the house. It's a pity the most iconic room at Kenwood is on a scrapheap somewhere, but such is the way of it.
