Old St Pancras Churchyard: 1968 & 2009.
The Old St Pancras Churchyard is certainly that, dating, as it does, from around the 12th century. It's an interesting place - associations with Shelley and Wessex funnyman Thomas Hardy, and the hand of time lays light upon it....a spring afternoon in 2009 is much the same as a summer one in 1968, give or take some foliage. It's also as quiet and lovely a spot as you will find in central London, all the more so for being a short stroll from the sheer hell of Camden High Street. I took these photos from memory, and, inevitably, screwed up the angles on some of them, so a complete set of before and afters will have to wait for another day. Try and contain yourselves.
These "then and now"s have been great. Keep up the good work. Also, it's nice to read a blog where the writer can actually--you know-- write well.
