John: 3 passports.
The earlier two were used whilst John lived at Kenwood. He got his first passport in 1960, and used it up until 1967. The fact that he represented himself as a ted to immigration officials the world over during the Beatles´ touring years doubtless afforded him a degree of pleasure. UK passports last for 10 years. It is possible that tache related reasons led to him renewing it early, in 1967. Whatever, tache afficianados, of whom there are at least one, will be pleased to see that John was tached up in 33% of his passport photos. Impressive stats. The final one dates from 1976.
How come Sean was mentioned in the third passport but not Julian, especially in the second passport version?
ReplyDeleteDoes the second passport carry a date of publishing?
ReplyDeleteGood point about Julian - the first passport predates his birth, so perhaps not surprising. I would suspect that the answer is that the second passport was arranged by a minion at NEMS, and John had very little to do with it...so, an oversight on the part of said minion. The third one, obviously, was obtained whilst John was lining in New York, and he would have had to be more personally involved in getting that one. Still doesn´t explain why Julian isn´t listed, though. Probably a reflection of the domestic circumstances. Ken, I don´t have exact dates, but I do know the years. Passport 1 is 1960-1967. Passport 2 is 1967 -1976. Passport 3, sadly, speaks for itself.
ReplyDeleteI suppose Cynthia had Julian listed on her passport
ReplyDeleteOne would certainly hope so!
