What about these?
OK, so the consensus seems to be that it is Joan Baez, but that the pic was taken in Benedict Canyon, L.A. during the '65 tour of the States. I'll go with that - the hills did look a bit grand for the home counties. Right then, while we're about it - these ones. Where/when/why? I'm pretty sure they aren't Kenwood related in any way. The first (some of my favourites) were taken when - February '69? And what's he doing?! The second - whose house? Judging by the sidies/hair, would early '68 be a good guess? Cavendish Avenue? There are comparatively few shots of the interior of Cavendish Avenue - though the gate is extremely well documented, obviously.
Hi! The picture frames in the first one are from from The Rolling Stones' Rock and Roll Circus, the segment where John introduces the band in mock (?) sign language. I think I've read somewhere that this short piece of film was shot at Twickenham studios while they were doing "Let It Be" (the movie/album).

So, December '68....I haven't seen that film for years, I'd forgotten. Got this off a forum ages ago. He was still living at Kenwood then, just about...
ReplyDeleteThey are great photos or "screengrabs" or whatever they are, in any case. Thanks Sakari.
ReplyDeletethe john and paul one even might be at kenwood, rather than cavendish... i don´t know why i say this, but i´ve either read it or... have a sixth sense about it ... weird.
ReplyDeletethe one of john and paul definitely looks like the inside of paul's living room at cavendish (it faces the back garden).
ReplyDeleteThat looks like the same television as the sunroom - quite likely John and Paul had the same kind of tv, so Cavendish a distinct possibility.
