A weekend away: Bangor, 25 - 27 August, 1967.















One of the beginnings of the end. On August 25, 1967, John and Cyn were driven up from Kenwood to catch (or not catch, in Cyn's case) the train from Euston station to Bangor, where Maharishi was holding an induction into the mysteries of transcendental meditation at the amusingly titled Normal College. It all ended very badly, of course. Nevertheless, here are a few pics less often seen from that weekend.

    the color shots - on the train - are great. I've never seen pix of them ON that ride before

    probably more press than the maharishi had ever seen. I wonder what he thought as a photographer snapped away. Hunter Davies was there, too.
