Kenwood: August, 1967.

These photos were taken one afternoon in August, 1967. John had sent his housekeeper down to the gate to let in waiting fans in small groups. He was working on a drawing which one of the fans, Frank Lawson, remembers as "quite complex with lots of lines with faces interwoven and emerging from the lines". John signed autographs etc. There must be lots more of these photos somewhere (there's one more in another post on this page for starters). So there we go. Pretty exciting stuff, I'm errr...sure you'll agree.

  7. First - an honour to have you here. People like me are just virtual Apple Scruffs, without all the having to stand around for hours/days/weeks/years in the cold - this blog is as much a tribute to you guys as it is to Mr Lennon etc etc.
Second, though, could you email me - kenwoodlennon@googlemail.com with why you hate Carol's book, and what the lies are. I'd be very interested. Wow! One o' the Scruffs!

  8. it will be a pleasure to contribute to your beautiful blog. indeed, "beatling" was not easy. just think that you could be waiting for 6 hours in the cold and your fave guy comes out exactly when you go get something to eat. it was devastating! but then we had sooo many fab times i can't complain at all.

  9. Lizzie, were you one of the lucky girls who managed to meet and tape record an interview with Paul at his home along with George around July 1967 ?

  10. no vince, i was not. they were american and i'm brazilian. i don't know the girls and i didn't know about them at the time, though i was living in london during the whole of 1967, part of 1968 and 1969, but i recently heard those tapes and they are great!

  11. Great to have you here! I never got to read this book but always wanted to - now that I hear from you that it is crap I have second thoughts but at the same time would like to learn more about the controversy. Any place to discuss this? Maybe you should do a book on your own! Actually I heard you might do a photo book with some of your snapshots but how about making it both: a text PLUS photo book?
Ken "BZ" Wood (yeah, I should go under that name here so not to confuse myself with Ken "Milky" Wood, BootlegZone being my first home as well as the place where I started using this moniker).
